Number of lower seals

Postby Fastjeff » Mon Feb 08, 2010 5:29 pm

Well! A parts sketch showing TWO lower seals on an early triple has been sent to me by a 'critic'. That makes three parts sketches showing only one seal, and his showing two of them.

Running design change?

I dunno about merc650.

I can tell you that all merc500s have two bottom seals, but some classic 40, 44-inch fours have one one seal and only space in the end cap for one. :!:
Is there another seal somewhere in the DSH - dunno?

No typo, the lower end cap has two seals on the triple. Always did.

I do agree with George on this.

It was only the eariest Mark 30's and 55's that ran only the one seal in the bottom cap, just looked it up.
