Quicksilver green is a very difficult color to match properly. I haven't done it yet.
I think I stumbed across a very accurate mix for Concept in Burgundy.

I still have the bottom side of my 20H clamp swivel bracket that has the factory gold on it , but my local Dupont dealer told me I need a bigger flat area to get the picture from to copy the correct shade of gold. Also most restored 20H paint jobs seem to miss completely out on the orange tint in the gold color by a mile. To much gold and no orange tint at all. I have a QT of gold Centari Enamal that I used the last time I repaint the covers about 8 years ago and it's not to far off, but it again has zero orange tint so I was going to try again to match the color closer. But this time I was going to strip it all off and try to match the bottom of the clamp swivel bracket, but now the paint store tells be they can't get a good shot of that area to match from so I am back to square one. This gold has ALWAYS been a problem and with so many being done you would think somebody could say ---- Buy Dupont / PPG code number XXXX and shot it over a silver base coat and you got it. But this is STILL not the case even after 1,000s of 20H restos. I guess it's time to go back to square
one. Who has restored the most 20HS ? Dudley Malone? Cooper Jess? Charlie Willams? and see what they got to say on the subject. Theres just GOT to be a correct code number with a plan of attack as to how to match Carls Ks.paint job ! In the passed I have matched all kind of wild candy colors on boats & cars, but this 20H gold is reeeeeelly tuff :?

Get a digital scale (Harbor Freight $9.99) and some orange tint from your automotove paint shop

Using baby food bottles, or equivalent, mix a little orange tint in a small sample of your gold paint.
Take notes on added weight, do incremental paint swaps and stop adding when you like the mix.
report your findings to this worhty group - thank you in advance. :D

I warning - it may not really be orange and a little goes a long way - this stuff is tricky.

Here is as close as i have come. It is a spray bomb job! The color is a duplicolor sunburst orange. I will get the number. The duplicolor has a very close metalflake size. I have an original 20h faceplate I use as a guage and it is pretty close. The green is Ace hardware hunter green. These covers spend a lot of time on the water and show very little wear. These have three summers on them and will not get repainted this year either. 8-)

Here's a mk25 "bomber" and another clone with the sunburst orange. FM351X maybe?

That is pretty close, see the orange tint  Wonder if I could shoot clear Imron over it after I scuffed the spary bomb with a scotch brite pad ??? And ofcourse waite 60 days for the spray bomb to cure completely before scuffing it. That clear Imron is tuff stuff. And yes I know the clear Imron is to shiney, but you can dull it somewhat in how much Pressure you use at the gun. Question,What was your base color( primer / sealer color) under the gold ? ?

You can wet sand the Imron (or Concept) clear and get any type of gloss you like.
finishing with 1500 gives a nice shine without excessive gloss.

If this is two shiney, finish with 1000 or 1200. whatever "floats your boat".

While I can't add any technical content to this thread, take a look at the 20H Doug Penn has on his website for sale.
