The "Maiden Voyage" of Rich's 'new' K5 16 hp.  Rich writes:  "...A buddy took this shot of the maiden voyage with the K-5 on the 1960 Fiberform.  I received it recently via e-mail.  Believe it or not, this was taken during Memorial Day weekend (1999) at Pend Oreille (pronounced pond-or-ray).  It never gets very crowded there.  The weather was fairly nice and we caught our share of fish.  On this particular outing, I got halfway out into the lake and the motor died due to a fuel pump problem.  My buddy came to the rescue and towed me in.  Please hold on to this until I send in the write up.  I hope to send some other photos in the US mail as well..."

Rich has a  restoration article on this motor.  View it.

Rich writes "I bought it for parts.  Someday I may try getting it going.

Update:  Since this picture was first added to the Museum in spring 1998, Rich has undertaken a major effort to bring little Ollie back to life.  Rich has spent untold hours (and probably too much money) to accomplish this almost impossible task.  See the great series of articles.  Curator
